Dry laboratory #1 is the central dry lab and houses most of our equipment. This laboratory space is designed primarily for teaching applications with multiple workstations, student microscopes (compound and dissecting), glassware, and an assortment of other equipment (refridgerated centrifuge, fume hood, de-ionized water system, stirrers, and a digital balance) although it is appropriate for any group needing a lot of bench space.

The classroom is set up for lectures and can seat up to thirty people. It has chalkboards for writing and the following equipment can be made available for users:

- Overhead projector
- Slide projector
- Power Point Projector with a laptop computer

Dry laboratory #2 is situated between the classroom and Dry Lab #1 and can be configured to most research needs. With work benches, A/C, and a reach-in freezer, this lab provides a good location for a visiting scientist to have their own work space, separated from other users of the facility.
The dry laboratories, classroom and computer lab are all located in an air-conditioned building near the center of the KML grounds. The “dry” labs have no running seawater, permanent tanks, or water tables and can be configured for use by researchers or educational groups. The classroom has been utilized for many graduate- and undergraduate-level courses, workshops, symposia, and by other groups needing PowerPoint projection, chalkboards, or other presentation tools. The computer lab offers access to email, web resources, and word processing software.
